Change your mind, change your life!
Some thoughts on the question of whether to do some PSYCH-K facilitation or just dive in and take a workshop:
What I love about PSYCH-K is that it is simple and easy to do and can be learned in one weekend. Once one knows how to do the processes one can change any belief one can think of.
However, I have come to realize that not everyone is adept at looking at themselves to discover what it is that they believe that is leading to the difficulties that they experience. I have come to appreciate that it is a learned skill even more than an innate ability. People who have engaged in a number of workshops, self-help studies or awareness experiences have likely developed this skill. Those who have not might like some assistance in thinking about their responses to their life experience.
In listening to people’s stories over the years and in particular, listening to how people tell their story, I have developed an ability to sense where a person is getting stuck and how to help them flesh it out. In the conversation, the issue takes shape so that not only I can see it but also the person telling the story can see it. By then we have a pretty good idea what it is they believe that leads to their reaction. This is, of course, good psychotherapy! Once we have an idea of what they believe that is not serving them it is an easy step for them to choose what they would like to believe instead. Then we make it so with a belief change or two.
So, to sum up: if you feel confident on your ability for self-examination then it is likely a great choice to just jump in and learn to do it; if you feel unsure of your ability to figure out what is motivating the difficulties you deal with then you might enjoy coming in for some assistance.
